• Nikki is a fifth generation Jackson Hole native. She grew up on the Jackson Hole Hereford Ranch, which her great-grandfather, Bruce Porter, started in 1928. 


  • She attended the Jackson Hole High School and was a member of the school's first ever Conference and State Championship Swim Teams. She went on to attend college at the University of San Francisco where she earned a degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Political Science. While in college she interned for U.S. Senator Michael Enzi in Washington, D.C. Upon graduating, Nikki worked for a start-up company in San Francisco until she decided to move back to Jackson in 2012. 


  •  Her family has long history of stewardship, entrepreneurship, and public service in Jackson. Businesses started by her family include; The Jackson Drug Co, Teton Theater, Log Cabin Bar, Astoria Hot Springs, and the Jackson Hole News. 


  • Her grandfather, Ralph Gill, was a former Teton County Commissioner and Mayor of Jackson. From an early age, Nikki's father and grandfather taught her the importance of preserving Jackson's past and strengthening it's future. 


  • For much of her life she has been employed by small businesses in Jackson such as; Merry Piglets, Betty Rock, Nanis, Belle Cose, Good Goods, and Goodie Two Shoes. In addition she also and taught swim team at the Teton Pines for three summers. Because of this Nikki understands the small business culture and how crucial it is to keep our workforce local.


  • Nikki returned home to Jackson in 2012 to work for her family’s cattle ranch and help manage her family’s commercial real estate. In 2015, she launched a beef Community Supported Agriculture Program from her family’s cattle ranch. In less than a year Nikki expanded the Ranch’s local beef operation into several local restaurants as well as a butcher shop.


  • In August of 2015 Nikki married Rob Ottaway, part owner of Cowboy Coffee Co., on the Jackson Hole Hereford Ranch. When not working they spend their time skiing, fly-fishing, and hanging out with their two dogs, Lucy and Kyro.
